Digital technology gives us Demographers a whole new toolbox to play with. It’s a means to an end. If technology helps us reveal more we’ll use it. But we never use it for the sake of it.

In home research

People don’t use digital technology in a laboratory. Lab testing tells us loads but it doesn’t tell us much about the difference in browsing behaviour and need states between browsing for a purpose and browsing when watching telly or chatting to friends and family. So we go where usage is taking place. Accompanied surfing and observation in the home environment, using a computer the respondent is familiar with and their normal running speed.

Mobile research

And increasingly digital usage is taking place on the move.  So we go there as well.

Digital diaries

We’ve been getting research respondents to keep diaries and complete pre-interview tasks for years. But now we can get them to record their thoughts in much more immediate, engaging and revealing ways.

Digital panel

Big surveys just got easier. And much more immediate and adaptable. We define who and how many people we want a view from. And then canvas their views.

Digital communities

In the web 2.0 world of the long tail, social networking, blogger power and beta driven development processes creating a community can be the foundation of any brand,  We help build the community. Then involve it in shaping and evolving the product or service.

Twitter

It’s immediate. It’s opinionated. Its impressionistic but often very revealing. Its the sound of hundreds of Twitter feeds responding to a bit of stimulus we put in front of them.
